Education

Vatnajökull National Park is the ultimate classroom for climate change, geology and glaciology. Overt the summer time there are ranger led interpertive hikes all aroun the park that all guests can join. Groups are also welcome to our vistor centres and groups can contact the centres to see if they are available to give a short program.

Nature & culture

The landscape of the National Park is shaped by the synergy between volcanoes and glaciers. Vatnajökull National Park and the neighbouring areas have many and varied cultural remains and there are tales of human habitation and farming in the area over the centuries.
