2. January 2025

The Nature Conservation Agency of Iceland handles projects related to nature conservation, biodiversity and hunting management within the Environmental Agency and the operations of Vatnajökull National Park. The agency is responsible for administration, supervision, and other tasks in the fields of nature conservation, sustainable development, protected areas, protection of wild birds and mammals, and fisheries management. Additionally, the agency coordinates the regional management and protection planning and monitoring in the above-mentioned divisions.

The agency's website is under development, but it can be found here www.nattura.is. The website of the Environmental Agency will therefore be accessible for the time being, and changes can be expected on the website of Vatnajökull National Park, which will remain accessible, as will the website of Snæfellsjökull National Park.
